This policy explains what information Start Hockey collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in the same plain language as everything else on this site.
What we collect
- Email address, if you sign up for the newsletter. That’s the only personal information we ask for directly.
- Basic usage data, like which pages get visited and roughly where visitors are coming from, collected automatically through standard analytics tools.
- Cookies, small files stored in your browser, used for basic site functioning and by third-party services described below.
How we use it
Your email is used only to send the newsletter you signed up for. We don’t sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone. Usage data helps us understand which guides are actually useful, so we can write more of what people need and less of what nobody reads.
Third-party services
This site participates in the Amazon Associates program and may link to products on Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon may set its own cookies when you click those links, governed by Amazon’s own privacy policy, not this one.
We may also use standard web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand site traffic. These tools may use cookies and collect information like your approximate location, browser type, and pages visited.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, though doing so may affect how some parts of the site work.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for parents and adult readers, even when the content is about youth hockey. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
